Applying False Eyelashes

Applying False EyelashesApplying False Eyelashes

Intro to basic How-To's

In between reviews we will go through the "Basic How-To's" of applying MakeUp and Special useful "MakeUp tips". One request I have received already, which took priority in this week's "Basic How-To's", is the application of False Eyelashes.

Now the benefits of applying False Eyelashes are quite amazing. Once applied you will see the incredible beauty they provide your eyes, making it easy to understand why women are willing to go through the torture of applying glue to their top lids and gluing a foreign object to them.

False Eyelashes can very easily in one application enhance your natural Lashes.

False Eyelashes can provide the appearance of much wider Eyes for someone with small shaped Eyes.

False Eyelashes can turn a simple look into a sophisticated look in a subtle way.

False Eyelashes can plump your Eyes and make them the focus of attention.

False Eyelashes can instantly define your natural Lash line.

Before you begin the application of False Eyelashes you will need a few items within reach, I wouldn't want you to be stumbling around reading the "How To's" with finger tips covered in glue and Eyelashes misplaced on your forehead!

Here what you will need:

1.A pair of False Lashes

2.Eyelash Glue

3.Small Scissors

4.Tweezers

5.Liquid Eyeliner

6.MakeUp Remover

7.Cotton Pads

Now we can begin safely!

Step 1. Apply your MakeUp.

If you are going to have MakeUp on, apply your MakeUp completely before applying the False Lashes.

Step 2. Preparing your False Lashes.

Make sure to trim the False Lashes in length and in width that suit your eye size. Using your Scissors, trim them accordingly and review them by putting them against your natural Lashes after every snip.

Step 3. Apply the Glue.

Most often False Eyelashes will come with Clear Waterproof Glue. Apply a thin line of Glue to the lashes very close to the edge of them and let it set for 2 minutes.
For Individual Lashes, dip the ends of the Eyelashes in the Glue and wait for a few seconds for it to set.

Step 4. Apply the False Lashes.

Strip Lashes
Before applying your False Lashes, check the tackiness of the Glue with your fingers, making sure it's just sticky enough for the Lashes to stay put.
Getting close to a mirror, looking down, make sure you target your natural Lash line. Picking up the False Eyelashes with Tweezers and guide it down unto your natural Lash line starting from the inner corner of your eye. Position the Eyelashes slightly above your natural lashes and press firmly one end into place. Continue to guide the Eyelash along your natural Lashes adjusting the Eyelash always with Tweezers ending to the outer corner of your eye lid.

Individual Lashes
For Individual Lashes apply them always using a tweezer, a little higher then your natural Lashes as to avoid ever damaging your natural Lashes. Apply them where you would like the appearance of fuller or longer Lashes. The preferred area along the Lash line would be the outer corner of the eye lid. Position your False Eyelashes and wait a few seconds pressing firmly into place with Tweezers.

Step 5. Blending Your False Eyelashes.

Blending your False Eyelashes is key in getting away with it looking as you were born with these long beauties.
Curling your False Eyelashes as you would normally curl your natural lashes is a great way to blend.
But most of all applying your favourite Mascara to your natural Lashes and False Eyelashes will blend them as one.
Next filling in the empty or sparse area with a liquid eyeliner or eyeshadow will make your False Eyelash Strip less noticeable from up close.

Step 6. Now removing your long beauties!

I wont stop mentioning how you should never ever go to bed with MakeUp left on. And since False Eyelashes are considered MakeUp, off they go before bed!!

Most Glue are water-based and can be easily removed using a cotton pad (or face cloth) dipped in water, MakeUp remover or cleansing milk. Holding the soaked cotton pad (or face cloth) unto of your eyelid for 2-3 minutes will soften up the Glue and make it easy to peal away at your False Lashes.

If you used a Waterproof Glue, it would be best to use olive oil as it has a magical way of gently removing many types of MakeUp. Dip your cotton pad (or face cloth) in olive oil. Hold the soaked cotton pad (or face cloth) unto your eyelid for 3 minutes. It will make those long beauties come lose, off your eyelids and make it easy to peal off.

After the removal of your False Lashes, make sure to wash them with warm water, soap or MakeUp brush cleaner, as to remove all Glue and Mascara residue left behind. Lay unto a clean face cloth or towel to dry.

This will make them absolutely clean and ready to wear again next time.

A friendly MakeUp Tip for anyone who would like to wear False Eyelashes to any important function for the first time is; Practise, practise, practise.

Practise long before the event to make sure you are comfortable and familiar with your long beauties. You want to be noticed for your sophisticated look with then on, not the MakeUp “faux pas” of them peeling off every time you bat your eyes to the hottie across the room.
